Along with Sonja’s beloved family, our team at Vandenber’s, and all who knew and loved her, we are grieving her tragic loss. Many of you knew her only professionally as the talented designer and enthusiastic encourager that she was. Some of you had the privilege of knowing her personally, so you witnessed her joy and exuberance. Sonja loves her Saviour, Jesus Christ, and her family and her friends with every inch of her being. She captured the hearts of all who met her, and she loved fiercely and completely. To say she will be missed seems wholly inadequate as we grieve her loss.”

Soft pastel skies and jewel toned flowers fill Sonja’s heart with joy. The laughter of a child, melodic notes on the piano and the smell of freshly baked pie breathe life into her soul. Passionate about designing fine jewellery as uniquely beautiful as the individual for whom it is intended, Sonja is a listener and interpreter who artistically transforms your heart’s deepest emotions into tangible tokens of your love and affection. Each piece of jewellery that Sonja designs is intended to represent something sacred and precious…a special life event…a relationship…a beautiful memory.
Growing up in Edmonton, the river valley was Sonja’s childhood backyard and has served as a significant source of inspiration for her art and design. Sonja studied Fine Art at MacEwan University and went on to complete the GIA Applied Jewellery Programme. Sonja firmly believes that love is the greatest emotion and motivator in this world. With that in mind, Sonja designs each piece to thoughtfully and beautifully encapsulate the love for another individual…something that tells a love story and will continue to tell a love story for years to come.
